Adhering to these rules is imperative for the safety of students and the space. Failure to do so will result in loss of Makerspace privileges and referral to Dean of Students.
Access
- No students are permitted in the Makerspace without faculty supervisor.
- Only students with a valid badge may use the corresponding equipment independently.
Safety
- Before using any tool, identify hazards and describe how to mitigate them.
- Wear appropriate PPE.
- Any accident, no matter how small, must be immediately reported to the faculty supervisor.
- You are responsible for turning off any equipment you use, especially hot glue guns, soldering tools, laser, ventilation, etc.
- Leave food/drinks outside the Makerspace.
Organization
- Most tools and supplies and tools have labels indicating where they go. Put them back where in the correct place.
- All workspaces must be cleaned before students leave. Ask for a box if you'd like storage for ongoing projects.
- Don't store tools in your box. Put them back in their correct spot.
