Adhering to these rules is imperative for the safety of students and the space. Failure to do so will result in loss of Makerspace privileges.
Access
- No students are permitted in the Makerspace without faculty supervisor.
- Only students with a valid badge may use the corresponding equipment independently.
Safety
- Before using any tool, identify hazards and consider how to mitigate them.
- Wear appropriate PPE.
- Any accident, no matter how small, must be immediately reported to the faculty supervisor.
- You are responsible for turning off any equipment you use, especially hot glue guns, soldering tools, laser, ventilation, etc.
- Leave food/drinks outside the Makerspace.
Organization
- Most tools and supplies and tools have labels indicating where they go. Put them back where in the correct place.
- All workspaces must be cleaned before students leave. Ask for a box if you'd like storage for ongoing projects.
- Don't store tools in your box. Put them back in their correct spot.
- Tools may not be borrowed without Dr. Taylor's consent. Use appropriate checkout form.
